Coating Characterization
The coating has excellent resistance to high temperature erosion
and corrosion, surpassing chrome carbide materials during service
above 840°F. At these and higher temperatures, a hard protective
Al2O3 scale develops even in "reducing"
environments (H2S, CO, etc.). Besides, with the increase
of temperature, the Ni1Al1 intermetallic retains
its mechanical properties better than metallic alloys. Resistance
to acids and dew point corrosion are poor.
Typical Applications
Superheater tubing and cyclone duct of pressurized fluidized-bed
boiler, walls and cooling nozzle of tire-burning incinerator,
guiding rails of carburizing and blast furnaces, hot rolls of steel
processing furnaces.
