Coating Characterization

This dense (gas-tight) coating has excellent resistance to sliding wear and abrasion. However, it is not a good choice for erosion protection due to the presence of hard but brittle phases. Impact resistance and fatigue resistance are fair. General corrosion resistance is good. This coating is more costly than WC-104A in processing due to the higher price of the stock material and the lower deposition efficiency. It is used when high density is a must.

Typical Applications

Heavy abrasion wear and sliding wear, gas-tight coatings (needle valve, valves seats and gates, sealing rings, shafts).
